SPRING has Sprung and So have your Sinuses!

With the wonderful warmth of the sun comes the beautiful blooms along with yep, pollen! UGH! So using this seasonal transition to continue your self-care regime requires a bit of adjusting to not only the time change but also what your choices are in terms of self care practices.
Since the shift from Winter to Spring is pretty drastic, it’s important to really tune in to your body, mind & spirit so that you remain energetically and emotionally balanced. You can still feel the tug of the slow, hibernating months of winter, so honor when you feel like you need a nap! When you have the boundless energy to run and jump and play….do so with moderation to avoid over challenging your system with the explosive burst of chi!
Be sure to begin taking more time to get out in nature, to enjoy the gifts offered in the way of bird song, green buds flourishing and majestic sunrises. By connecting with the vibrational energy of the Earth and atmosphere, you will find the sense of newness and rebirth calling you forward into more expansion and adventure.
And speaking of flourishing nature….
Aromatherapy is an ideal component of seasonal self care.

With the changes of season, especially in the South, we find warm dampness increasing as the yellow stuff begins to accumulate on our cars & in our respiratory systems.
It’s definitely called Spring Fever for a reason, as we see the damage from the harsh winters cold and we can’t wait to trim back the old and make way for the vibrant color that is on the verge of erupting.
Whether you get full blown spring allergies or just a touch of post nasal drip after working out in the garden, this recipe for respiratory support steam inhalation is sure to soothe irritated sinuses as well as offering a wonderful detoxifying treatment for your facial skin!

Spring Cleanse Steam Inhalation
1 drops Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus)
2 drops Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia)
Makes one treatment (if you’d like more, then multiply this out to fill the size container you have-dram being the best choice)
Take the above blend and place in a large bowl of steaming water, cover your head with a towel, creating a tent. Keep your eyes closed as you relax over the steamy bowl and begin by breathing through mouth and nose until you feel comfortable enough to breathe deeply through your nose. Inhale deeply until the steam dissipates and no longer rises. You can repeat this treatment up to 3 times per day.
